General Motors Korea takes the credit of bringing the sporty hatchback concept of Beat into being. The small car is placed just above the Spark which has almost the same build platform with changes in its styling. The diesel concept for Beat was revealed in 2012 and the new car has a fuel efficient turbocharged engine. With a touch of chrome in few areas and some cuts and curves the Chevrolet Beat Diesel is an interesting piece for city dwellers especially.

Chevrolet Beat Diesel is available in three variants namely PS, LS and LT. An optional pack can be added to the higher end variant. The sporty car has 9 different colours to make an impression on the viewer. Cocktail Green, Super Red, Switch Blade Silver, Linen Beige, Caviar Black, Misty Lake, Summit White and San Drift Grey are the colour options for the car.

Power & Performance

The power house of Chevrolet Beat Diesel is a 936 cc Smartech engine which is designed to have a turbocharger and a vacuum operated waste gate. The engine is built to be torquier and this force is delivered at lower rpm levels. The torquier engine performs smoothly on steep roads in the presence of electronic throttle and electronic clutch switch. The power and torque ratings of this fuel efficient engine are 57 bhp at 4000 rpm and 150 Nm at 1750 rpm respectively. The five speed manual transmission of Chevrolet Beat Diesel has quick gear ratios which lets the car pass through city roads swiftly.

The suspension system comprises of McPherson Strut with Anti roll bar and Compound Crank type units at front and rear respectively. These units are supported by gas shock absorbers which are designed for a sporty drive. The Chevrolet Beat Diesel gets larger tubeless tyres which provide better on road grip.

Large dual barrel headlamps and chrome surround mesh grille gives a mod introduction to the character of Chevrolet Beat Diesel. Thick wheel arches, sloping roof line with silver rails and rear roof spoiler gives a stylish finish to the small cars athletic character. The tail lamp cluster has an attractive circular outline placed within a black surround are catchy. Bold lines on front bonnet and side body add more character to the car. Circular fog lamps with chrome surround sit on the front bumper of Chevrolet Beat Diesel.

The dashboard of Chevrolet Beat Diesel has a two layer wavy design with integrated audio system. The instrument cluster has a circular speedometer and squarish digital LCD display for tachometer. The interior is air conditioned and the rear seats get folded down if required which gives more space for luggage. Bottle holders and cup holders built into the floor console and doors make perfect space for storage within the small cabin. All controls on the dashboard, door panel and gear shift lever in Chevrolet Beat Diesel is within the short reach of the driver.

Safety is built into the metal structure. The use of high strength materials in the construction of exterior body with giving more importance to critical parts acts like an armour during collisions. Antilock Braking System and dual frontal airbags come as option in one of the variants of Chevrolet Beat Diesel.
